Eastern Door and the North (EDN) is the name of the team\u00a0that represents the\u00a0First Nations and Inuit in Quebec\u00a0in\u00a0various national and international sporting competitions, including the National Aboriginal Hockey Championships\u00a0(NAHC) and the North American Indigenous Games (NAIG).<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

Initially\u00a0called\u00a0\u201cTeam\u00a0Kahnaw\u00e0:ke,\u201d\u00a0it\u00a0became Team\u00a0EDN, uniting the various communities of the territory under a single name.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

Until 2011,\u00a0Team EDN\u00a0was coordinated by the\u00a0community of\u00a0Kahnaw\u00e0:ke. In July\u00a02011, the Assembly of First Nations Quebec-Labrador entrusted the First Nations of Quebec and Labrador Health and Social Services Commission with the\u00a0task of\u00a0promoting\u00a0sports and recreation activities and coordinating\u00a0the\u00a0EDN\u00a0delegation\u2019s participation in various events.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Team EDN, which brings together teams made up of members from different nations, proudly\u00a0represents\u00a0First Nations and Inuit cultures and values.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

Team EDN has shined\u00a0on the national stage\u00a0on many occasions,\u00a0<\/span>winning five\u00a0NAHC\u00a0titles<\/span><\/b>\u00a0and an impressive total of\u00a0<\/span>17 medals<\/span><\/b>. With\u00a0<\/span>over 20 appearances<\/span><\/b>\u00a0at this major event,\u00a0Team EDN\u00a0continues to\u00a0showcase\u00a0<\/span>commitment, talent, and perseverance<\/span><\/b>,\u00a0year after year<\/span>.<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

With more than seven appearances at the\u00a0NAIG, Team\u00a0EDN\u00a0has built a solid reputation in the sporting world. Over the years, its athletes have accumulated over 340 medals\u2014including more than 110 gold, 130\u00a0silver, and 100\u00a0bronze.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

Over the years,\u00a0several\u00a0members have left their mark on Team\u00a0EDN\u00a0through their commitment and passion.\u00a0Dave Canadian, for example,\u00a0made significant contributions to the team as a coach, mission staff member, and\u00a0Chef de\u00a0Mission.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t
